Weather summary for the midsouth
National weather service memphis tn
400 am cdt thu jul 29 2010

Typical weather for late july across the midsouth can be expected today. Hot and humid conditions will occur along with scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms.

A weak cold front will move into the region from the northeast tonight and Friday. The front will bring little relief to the heat other than perhaps some drier air to eastern locations. Small chances for thunderstorms will linger into the first half of the weekend.

High pressure in the upper atmosphere will strengthen over the midsouth from the west Sunday into the middle of next week. Excessive heat is once again expected with little rainfall. Heat advisories will likely be needed.
