What Exactly Is Bandwidth/Transfer?

Bandwidth/Transfer is the amount of data the server will allow your site to send in a month. Transfer is usually measured in gigabytes -  or billions of bytes.

Our Basic Plan provides 5 billion bytes of transfer each month. For the vast majority of users that amount of bandwidth is more than enough. One of our longtime clients has over 20,000 pages on her website and receives over a million page views per year. She has never exceeded here allotted 5 billion bytes per month.

The amount of bandwidth required by a site has a lot to do with how well the site is designed. Some users require lots of bandwidth because they distribute audio or visual files (please read JCNetworks' Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy regarding distributing materials owned by a third party).
